I really hope South Kurdistan will be independent this year. We have been suffering for decades now, the time has come to have an independent state. I am willing to fight for it.

By now, no one is left unacquainted with the extreme suffering plight of hapless and homeless Kurdish nation!

We are in the year 2012. The entire oppressed people in the entire globe are awakening to battle for their negated intrinsic rights. Colorful revolutions materialize one after another. Dictators collapse. Nations are emancipated. And new countries come into existence.

Since the establishment of artificial Iraq by colonial and imperial powers in 1923, Kurds have been coerced to co-exist averse their own will in a state in which its totally divergent people never shared any identical commonalities with one another. Albeit Iraqi continued to weather, but in reality, it never could experience true and permanent peace and stability. Incessant {civil} wars and perpetration of unparalleled genocides by consecutive brutal dictators claimed hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, but Iraq country could never be stabilized. Even in the wake of US troops’ withdrawal, the country continues to suffer from chaos, terrorism and perils of embryonic ethnic-sectarian civil wars. Every feasible alternative has already been exhausted.

Iraqi Kurdistan is already a state within a state and it requires is international backing and recognition. The United States and its allies assisted many oppressed smaller size nations of the world proclaim their independence. The aftermath was successful. The 6 million homeless Kurds in North of Iraq are no exceptions. Independence is our right!

A large number of people from different religious backgrounds throughout Iraq have resettled in the prosperous and secure Kurdistan Autonomous Region. They enjoy equal rights as their Kurdish fellow-citizens. Iraqi Minorities groups have decided to permanently reside in an independent Kurdistan, should Iraq ever be partitioned. Iraqi Kurdistan has proven itself!

Kurds are peace-seeking and peace-loving people in general. If they have resorted to armed struggle in certain countries, it is mainly because their legitimate rights are recanted.

Kurds are extending their hands for peace, co-existence, and cooperation to all sides. Since the liberation of Iraqi in 2003, Iraqi Kurdistan has become a model in the Entire Middle East in terms of its political stability, rapid economic growth and foreign investments. Iraqi Kurdistan continues to attract tens of thousands of tourists from all over the world. Compared to the war-ravaged Iraq, Iraqi Kurdistan is characterized by most as another Switzerland! Indeed, Kurdistan is one of the most attractive countries, wealthiest in the region and most tranquil in the world.

Time has come for the 6 million plus Kurds to secede from Iraq. It is time to renew and honor “ The Treaty of Sèvres (10 August 1920)”

Time has come to support Kurdish independence.

Stop repressing the Kurds! Stop silencing their voices!

Stop making decisions on their part! Let them be free and let them live in peace!

is krg involved in syria whit the usa? maybe they preparing to make autonomie for westkurdistan or annex the kurdish areas to krg.

ERBIL, March 29 (AKnews) - Kurds have the right to self-determination, said the Kurdistan Region’s vice president, who was sworn in today, during a press conference following taking his oath of office.

Kosrat Rasul said “As the Kurdistan Region, it's our right, by benefiting from the current situations in the region, to determine ourselves," Kosrat Rasul told reporters when asked about Kurdish independence.

Rasul stressed his support for the Kurdistan Region’s reform strategies, which were announced over the past few days.

He also suggested to the Kurdistan Regional Government to give greater roles to the integrity commission as well as the financial control office to achieve reforms and fight corruption.

Rasul was voted vice president by a majority vote amid a boycott by the opposition forces, who hold 35 seats out of the 110-seat parliament.

Washington, USA (KRP) - Today the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Masoud Barzani was officially received by President Obama and Vice President Biden at the White House.

During their talks, both sides emphasized the necessity of a prolonged and deepened relationship between the United States and the Kurdistan Region within the framework of a democratic, pluralistic and federal Iraq.

The leaders also discussed practical steps towards the continued strengthening of the relationship through maintaining high level meetings and discussions.

Furthermore it was agreed that the United States would broaden the services provided by its consulate in Erbil.

The President and Vice President of the United States reaffirmed their continued commitment to the historic relationship with the people and government of the Kurdistan Region, and their support for an Iraq that adheres to its constitution.

The exact nature of this is currently unclear , but i wonder what they might be !!! i posted an article from http://www.foreignpolicy.com yesterday i would like to highlight 2 important suggestions from the author of the article:

*Allow Visas to be Issued From Erbil
*Let U.S. Planes Fly to Kurdistan

if these services begin we can say that kurdistan has stepped up its independence about more than 60% , but unfortunately supporting a kurdish state was postponed by Obama's administration maybe it might change with the republicans coming to power , as some of them have vast shares in some of kurdistan businesses .

but i think we should not wait for them to support us but instead declare it and then the pressure will mount for them to support it as we all know no one will come and say here is your kurdish state we have to announce it and then we wait for Americans to come and recognize it specially if we do a referendum then they prob cant turn down the votes of 6 million people ... , but what i dont get here is the news from CIA boss urging turkey to accept a kurdish state ( it was also published by Washington post and no US official denied the news) , something is defiantly going on our President must be clear with the kurdish people .

In all case scenarios once we declare it the worst thing is US using veto against it which i doubt if they do as we are no Palestine , then we will be independent without a seat in UN like Cezch republic is (Russian veto prevented them from a UN membership).

Also if a kurdish state "Republic of Mahabad" in 1946 without a strong army , 20+ consulates , 40+ oil companies and producing 200,000 oil bpd to rise to 1 million bpd in 2014 can last 11 months , i am sure a kurdish state in KRG in 2012 with these advantages can last for ever .

Lastly we will survive closed borders by iran and turkey as we did from 1991-2003 bcos of UN sanctions on iraq , it was actually turkey iran and iraq , but bcos kurds live on the other side of the borders of iran and turkey , the sanction was not too effective on kurdistan than it was on Arab iraq but this time it wont be a UN sanction but mainly turkey and iran , but syria is going to be a friendly state towards KRG.

Bangladesh is a recognized country and KRG is not ?? LoL.

but i think the main reason for delaying it is to wait till oil production reaches 1 million bpd , that way a kurdish state can stand strong and wealthy , and KRG's oil minister told a media conference in US that they are building a new pipeline to bypass the Ceyhan-Turkey which is under iraq's control , that way kurdistan will have its own independent oil export route , as currently kurdistan oil is sold via trucks to Afghanistan.
