2012 VIVA World Cup matches kick off Monday


ERBIL, May 31 (AKnews)- On Monday, June 4, the first match of the 2012 VIVA World Cup, will be held in Franco Hariri Stadium in Erbil, capital of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

N.F. Board governing body decided that the first match of the cup between Kurdistan and Western Sahara be held at 8.00 p.m., said Jalal Pareshan, press secretary for the 2012 VIVA World Cup in Kurdistan.

Pareshan added Kurdistan's President Massoud Barzani will attend the inauguration ceremony of the cup which begins an hour before the launch match.

Kurdistan hosts the fifth round of the VIVA cup, organized by N.F. Board (Nouvelle Fédération-Board, NFB, unofficially Non-FIFA-Board, founded in 2003).


The nine participants in the cup are divided into three groups.

The first group includes Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Western Sahara and Occitania; the second Zanzibar, Tamil Eelam , Raetia; and the third Darfur, Provence and North Cyprus.

The matches will be played at 07.00 and 09.00 p.m. evening with the group stages being held in Duhok and Suli.

most of the games are done in Erbil , only few will be done in Suli and Duhok. and lol at Canadian Quebec team for not having money to attend the cup .

Yes off course, but it will take a while as many approvals have to be made. Especially, this will go the iraqi government as well. Not a simple thing indeed.

Unfortunately, the match was not as expected and the team did not play well some spectators said.

This is the firendly match between kurdistan and al naft masafi for prepartion for the VIVA world cup. However, Miran karim scored a goal in last minutes and the match ended 1-0 to kurdistan.

I think we should play in a unique colour such as, yellow shirts since most countries in asia wear white, green, and red shirts. A few countries have different colours which are not even on their flags! This is not a matter.

What do you think of the 1st and 2nd kits? We can change the strips as the kurdistan flag.

We should create a unique design that stands out! Not like the white shirt which has no creativity!!!
