Curfew amid preparations for a military operation in Muş

Curfew in 59 villages and hamlets in Amed countryside

Diyarbakır Governorate has declared a curfew in 59 villages and hamlets ahead of an operation to be launched by the Turkish army in the countryside of Lice, Hazro, Kocaköy and Dicle districts.

Turkish-backed gangs burn fields in Efrîn

Gangs acting under command of the Turkish army set fire to cultivated fields in a village of Efrîn and opened fire on locals that tried to distinguish the fire.

Gangs affiliated with the invading Turkish army set fire to the cultivated fields in Celemê village in Efrîn Canton's Cindires district and the Qîlê hill near the village.

The gangs stationed across the fields they set ablaze also opened fire on the locals that tried to reach the scene to distinguish the fire that later spread into the fields in the village.

Turkish army shells surroundings of villages in Lice

Thousands of soldiers and armored vehicles have been dispatched to the countryside of Amed province following Diyarbakır Governorate's declaration of a curfew in 59 villages and hamlets in the districts of Lice, Hazro, Kocaköy and Dicle late Sunday.

Local sources report intense military activity in the region, describing the military operation as a most extensive one conducted recently.

Turkish army intensifies military build-up in Lice district center, from where troops are conducting artillery attacks on the area between Sîsê and Dêrxus villages.While villagers cannot go out of their homes due to the attacks, soldiers have blocked the roads leading to the villages.

According to reports from the region, the operation is joined by troops from 7th Corps Command, Amed and Bingöl Provincial Gendarme Commands and district commando battalions.

Over 20 drones are mobilized for the operation which is joined by 7 thousand soldiers, around 800 special operations police and 12 guard teams from the districts of Bingöl and Amed. The army has put up military tents in the rural area between Licok and Zengok villages of Lice.

All the cars travelling in the region are being stopped at checkpoints and subjected to a strict search. Mobile checkpoint has been set up between Lice's Sise-Kervas villages and Hazro's Helhel village.

The Turkish state has declared a curfew in 7 villages and neighborhoods of Muş province amid preparations for a military operation.

A curfew declared by Muş Governorate went into effect as of 00:30 last night due to military operations to be launched in some villages and neighborhoods.

The areas involved in the curfew zone are Yamaç village, Yörecik village, Zongar neighborhood, Derik neighborhood, Beşevler neighborhood, Sılmanevleri neighborhood and Pekut upland.

According to the statistics gathered by the foundation’s documentation center between Aug. 16, 2015 and June 1, at least 218 officially confirmed round-the-clock and open-ended curfews were imposed in 10 provinces and at least 43 districts.


The terrible thing is that many curfews last for WEEKS some even last for MONTHS leaving people too frightened to go out and buy food

Often, during curfews, the kind caring Turkish government cut off water and electric supplies X(
