'Ancient aliens' built world’s first airport 7,000 years ago

Iraq’s Transport Minister, Kazem Finjan, claims “ancient aliens” built earth’s first airport 7,000 years ago in the Middle East - and used it for interplanetary missions.

Getting ever so slightly sidetracked during a press conference to announce the construction of a real-life, modern day airport in Dhi Qar, southern Iraq, Finjan suggested spacecraft launched from the same area in 5,000 BC discovered Pluto and the mythical planet of Nibiru.

Sumerians inhabited what was Mesopotamia and, according to Finjan, were aided in developing this space station by visiting aliens.

"The first airport that was established on planet earth was in this place. It was constructed 5,000 years before Christ,” Finjan told a baffled gallery of journalists.

The particularity of this place is that it remains the safest for the landing and takeoff of aircraft, due to favourable weather conditions. When the Sumerians settled on this land, they were aware of this and have chosen specifically for their flights to other planets."

An apparently well-read individual, Finjan is convinced he has found the proof for his theories.

“I invite those who doubt to read the book of the great Sumerian historian Zecharia Sitchin, or the books of Samuel Kramer including one entitled ‘History begins at sumer’ which speaks of the first airport constructed on planet earth, and it is there at el Naciria,” he continued.

Personally speaking, it would not surprise me in the slightest if Kazem Finjan theories had some bases in fact

Almost all scientists now agree that there is life on other planets

Think of how much science has progressed in the past 100 years

Any extra terrestrial life form will either be less advanced or more advanced that humans

We cannot even begin to conceive what a life form a thousand years in advance of our own would be capable of achieving

All I can say is we - here on earth - had better hope that none of them ever pay us a visit

Humans are basically savages - we destroy everything good - they would not want us to be capable of inter-galactic travel

When I think of aliens I have only one thing to say:

Be afraid - be very afraid

Where is archaeological proof for this airport? If really aliens had visited earth why we could not have been able find any proofs so far? This is not to say they don't exist. If they exist they must be thousands of light years away from us, in which case there wouldn't be any point for them to travel thousands of light years just to visit this lousy planet, Earth.

They could have far more advanced technology perhaps even a travel portal :D

150 years ago there was none of the technological advancements we now have

Think of even the everyday things we take fore-granted such as:

Cars - trains - phones - TVs

People were afraid to travel in cars and they had to have a man walking in front the each car waving a flag

Scientists proved that travelling on trains at more than about 10mph would take people's breath away and they would die

I remember when I had my first mobile phone - anywhere I went people wanted to hold it and if someone phoned me people wanted to listen =))

Little men in a box - 150 years ago someone with portable TV would have been killed for capturing people and holding their souls

Speed of light - will mean nothing to those more advanced than humans

You remind me with my grand daughter Arianna. when She was about one year old and I was his nany, whenever her mum telephoned me I let her to listen to her mum in the mobile. After hearing her mum in the mobile, she was looking at the mobile and then started crying. It was obvious she was thinking her mum gone inside the mobile. I am sure she was thinking how this big thing, her mum, gone inside this small thing, mobile phone.

Physical laws are applicable universally. So far no proof has been found about traveling faster than the speed of light.

Just because humans have not found a way of doing something does not mean it cannot be done

Even Stephen Hawkins believes there is intelligent life on other planets :D

Stephen Hawking - Aliens may pose risk to earth

British physicist Stephen Hawking says aliens are out there, but it could be too dangerous for humans to interact with extraterrestrial life.

Hawking claims in a new documentary titled "Into the Universe With Stephen Hawking" that intelligent alien life forms almost certainly exist — but warns that communicating with them could be "too risky."

"We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet," Hawking said. "I imagine they might exist in massive ships ... having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach.”

The 68-year-old scientist said a visit by extraterrestrials to Earth might well be like Christopher Columbus arriving in the Americas, "which didn't turn out very well for the Native Americans."

He speculated that most extraterrestrial life would be similar to microbes, or small animals. Microbial life might exist far beneath the Martian surface, where liquid water is thought to trickle through the rock. Marine creatures might also conceivably live in huge oceans of water beneath a miles-thick layer of ice on Europa, a moon of Jupiter.

But if a scientific census could be extended beyond our solar system to the rest of the Milky Way and beyond, the odds in favor of life's existence rise dramatically, Hawking said.

"To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational," he said. “The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like."

Hawking said an attack by interstellar predators is just one of the dismaying possibilities in the search for intelligent life beyond Earth. Another possibility is that intelligence itself might be inimical to life. Hawking pointed out that humanity has put itself on the edge of its own destruction by creating nuclear bombs and other weapons of mass destruction.

"If the same holds for intelligent aliens, then they might not last long," he said. "Perhaps they all blow themselves up soon after they discover that E=mc2. If civilizations take billions of years to evolve, only to vanish virtually overnight, then sadly we've next to no chance of hearing from them."

Hawking has become one of the world's best-known scientists — not just because of his theoretical work on cosmology and black holes, but also because he has achieved so much while coping with a paralyzing neural disease for most of his life. In recent years he has become a prominent advocate for space travel, contending that humans must journey into the heavens and going through zero-gravity training himself.

A 'second Earth' just four light years away orbits a star more like our sun than previously thought

Researchers believe the red dwarf Proxima Centauri could be sun-like
Observations over decades revealed the star has a similar cycle to the sun
Like the sun's 11-year solar cycle, it produces dark star spots on its surface
But Proxima Cenaturi's 7-year stellar cycle produced intense star spots
This would also send fierce stellar winds raging towards Proxima b

Earlier this year, astronomers were astounded at the discovery of a potentially habitable alien world within reaching distance of Earth.

Planetary scientists believe Proxima b, which orbits the smallest of three stars in the distant system, could hold oceans and possibly even the right conditions for life.

Now astronomers think that its parent star, Proxima Centauri, may even be more like our own sun, generating stellar winds which could batter the planet’s atmosphere.

Astronomers have found that one of the closest stars to Earth, Proxima Centauri, experiences regular cycles of starspot activity, like the sun. Scientists recently discovered an alien world, Proxima b, orbiting the red dwarf star which could hold oceans and even conditions for life

PROXIMA CENTAURI'S SUN-LIKE CYCLES

After observing Proxima Centauri for more than 22 years, astronomers have found that the star experiences regular cycles of starspot activity.

Similar to the sun, the starspots on the red dwarf are the result of magnetic fields interrupting the flow of plasma, resulting in cooler patches.

Its 7-year cycle generates huge spots which cover a fifth of the planet at the peak of the cycle, which would generate huge stellar winds.

It is unclear how these winds would affect Proxima b, the recently discovered Earth-like world orbiting the star.

But spikes in the intensity of charged particles fired out from the star could potentially strip away atmospheres, leaving planets as lifeless rocks.

As the smallest of the trio of stars in the Alpha Centuari system, Proxima Centauri is a red dwarf star, smaller and cooler than the sun and about one tenth of the mass.

But despite these apparent differences, astronomers have found it also has regular dark ‘starspots’ on its surface, driven by its churning magnetic fields.

A team at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics found that the star experiences regular cycles of starspot activity.

Like sunspots, the starspots on Proxima Centauri are the result of these fields interrupting the flow of plasma, resulting in cooler patches.

For the sun, the solar cycle lasts for 11 years, with a solar maximum causing a greater number of sunspots to appear, and appearing almost completely clear of spots at the minimum – the period the sun is currently in.

After collecting data spanning 22 years, the team found Proxima Centauri has a similar cycle which lasts just seven years.

But what sets the star apart is the extent of star spots.

The star's 7-year cycle generates huge spots which cover a fifth of the planet at the peak of the cycle, which would generate huge stellar winds. Its unclear how these winds would affect Proxima b, the recently discovered Earth-like world orbiting the star

Scientists behind the Proxima b discovery have said it may be the first exoplanet - planet outside our solar system - to one day be visited by robots from Earth.

The team estimate that at the peak of its cycle, 20 per cent of the red dwarf’s surface would be covered in spots, some of which would be enormous relative to those on the sun.

‘If intelligent aliens were living on Proxima b, they would have a very dramatic view,’ said Brad Wargelin, lead author of the study.

The findings, published in Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, surprised the team as they did not expect a red dwarf to have the same disruptions to convection in a red dwarf as in a star like the sun, so should not experience a star cycle.

WHAT MAKES PROXIMA B SO UNIQUE

Planet found in habitable zone around closest star to Earth

Earlier this year, scientists announced the discovery of an exoplanet 'Proxima b' in orbit around the smallest of Alpha Centauri's trio of stars, Proxima Centauri.

Astronomers believe it may be the first exoplanet which could be visited by robots from Earth.

The planet orbits within a 'temperate' zone from its host star, some four light years from us.

Distance: This is the closest Earth-like planet we could ever find. Orbiting our nearest star, the planet is only four light years away.

Missions to send spacecraft to the planet to examine for signs of life are already in planning, and could happen within decades.

Composition: The planet is rocky and a similar size to Earth.

Temperature: It lies in the 'habitable zone' of its star, which means there could be liquid water on its surface - a key ingredient for alien life.

The temperature on the surface of the planet could be between -90° and 30° Celsius (-130 and 86 Fahrenheit).

Atmosphere: If Proxima b has an atmosphere, the simple ingredients - water, carbon dioxide, and rock - that are needed for the formation of biochemical cycles that we call life, could all be present and interacting on the planet's surface.

Scientists behind the Proxima b discovery have said it may be the first exoplanet - planet outside our solar system - to one day be visited by robots from Earth.

It orbits within a 'temperate' zone from its host star, with a mass about 1.3 times that of Earth, and orbits about 7.5 million kilometres (4.6 million miles) from Proxima Centauri - about a tenth the distance of innermost planet Mercury from the Sun.

Whether or not this cycle could affect any potential life on Proxima b remains unclear, but such intense stellar activity would generate huge stellar winds, flinging charged particles out towards any orbiting planets, potentially stripping away their atmospheres.

The latest observations help to build a clearer picture of the stars in Earth's stellar neighbourhood, with missions such as the recently launched Project Blue hoping to capture images of their planets.

Steve Saar, who co-authored the study, said: ‘Direct observations of Proxima b won’t happen for a long time.

'Until then, our best bet is to study the star and then plug that information into theories about star-planet interactions.’

ASTRONOMER LAUNCH PROJECT BLUE

The famous Pale Blue Dot image captured by the Voyager 1 probe in 1990

A privately-led team of astronomers has launched an ambitious effort to capture the first images of the alien worlds, by pointing the camera at our nearest stellar in the Alpha Centauri system, 4.3 light-years away.

If successful, the team hopes to capture images within a few years of launch, and will become the first to set eyes on the alien worlds in orbit around the systems bright twin stars Alpha Centauri A and B.

The project is named after the famous ‘Pale Blue Dot’ image, the photo of Earth captured by the Voyager 1 probe from billions of miles away.

The project aims to fund, build and launch a telescope to capture images of planets orbiting the stars.

The ambitious, privately-led project is led by New York-based non-profit the BoldlyGo Institute, and plans to launch the instrument in 2019.

I remember when I got my first hand-held mobile phone. It was a second hand one and cost £400.00. I was showing off whenever I was going out carrying it with me in my hand. Once a group of thug youngsters started following me to get the phone. I tried to lose them but couldn't. I reached a place where plenty of building woods were thrown around. I picked up a piece of wood and turned on them. They all scattered and run away. After that I always hid the phone when I went out.

Does this mysterious piece of aluminium prove UFOs visited Earth 250,000 years ago?

The discovery was made in 1973 but supposedly kept secret at the time
Chunk of metal was found alongside two ancient fossils, investigator said
Metallic aluminium was not produced by humans until 200 years ago
Historians dispute claims that the object is of alien origin
Some say that it is a part from a WWII German fighter plane

It was quickly determined that the two large bones belonged to a large extinct mammal that died 10,000-80,000 years ago, but experts were stunned to find out that the third object was a piece of very lightweight metal, and appeared to have been manufactured.

In 1973, builders working on the shores of the Mures River not far from the central Romanian town of Aiud found three objects 10 metres (33 feet) under the ground

The object is 20 centimetres (7.8 inches) long, 12.5 centimetres (4.9 inches) wide and 7 centimetres (2.8 inches) thick.

What puzzled experts is that the piece of metal has concavities that make it look as if it was manufactured as part of a more complex mechanical system.

Now a heated debate is going on that the object is actually part of a UFO and proof of visitation by an alien civilisation in the past.

The piece of metal was originally to be the end of an axe

Gheorghe Cohal, the Deputy Director of the Romanian Ufologists Association, told local media: 'Lab tests concluded it is an old UFO fragment given that the substances it comprises cannot be combined with technology available on Earth.'

However, local historian Mihai Wittenberger claims that the object is actually a metal piece from a World War II German aircraft.

He believes that it is a piece of the landing gear from a Messerschnmitt ME 262.

The UFO hunters say that this explanation does not explain the age of the artifact.

The metal object has now gone on display in the History Museum of Cluj-Napoca, with a sign that reads 'origin still unknown'.
