Ismail Haniyeh assassinated

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps in Iran and Hamas announce the martyrdom of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in an airstrike on his residence in Tehran

Hamas confirmed the martyrdom of the Hamas leader, noting that the head of the political bureau was killed in a "treacherous Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran."

Iran's IRGC later said, "We are studying the dimensions of the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau, and will announce the results of the investigation later."

Israeli aggression targets residential bldg in Beirut Southern Suburb

At least one civilian, a woman, was killed and sixty-eight others were wounded in an Israeli aggression on Haret Hreik, in the Southern Suburb of Beirut, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported.

Among the injured, five are in critical condition, while the rest of the injuries range between moderate and minor, the ministry added.

An Israeli strike targeted a residential building in the Southern Suburb of Beirut on Tuesday evening, destroying a substantial section of the structure.

The strike comes after continuous threats by Israeli occupation officials of a substantial aggression on Lebanon, since Saturday.

Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that the strike targeted the Southern Suburb of Beirut, where at least one explosion was heard.

In detail, our correspondent said that the strike targeted a residential building in Haret Hreik, resulting in the collapse of a substantial section of the structure.

"Israel" has been threatening a strike against Lebanon after falsely accusing the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah of launching an attack on the Israeli-occupied Syrian town of Majdal Shams.

Following the strike, the United Nations said the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL) leadership and the UN coordinator are conducting talks to prevent a war between Hezbollah and "Israel".

Israeli forces demolish homes
    Palestinians displaced
The Geneva Convention states that Palestinians in the occupied territories are protected persons, yet the Israeli occupation continues to disregard Palestinian rights

A Palestinian home in the Al-Bustan community in the Silwan neighborhood of occupied East Al-Quds was demolished by municipality workers and Israeli forces on Tuesday, displacing seven Palestinians, including two children, while violating international law through forced displacement and deliberate destruction of property.

"Israel must immediately stop forcibly displacing Palestinians and demolishing their homes and property in Al-Bustan and throughout the occupied Palestinian territory," the head of advocacy at Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)’s Middle East and North Africa, Nathan Carey said, urging that "The international community must take all possible actions to prevent further displacement of Palestinians, halt Israeli settlement expansion, and hold Israel accountable for violating international law."

The Al-Bustan community, located near the Jewish Quarter of the Old City, is home to approximately 1,550 Palestinians and 150 housing units, where all its structures are not currently safeguarded and at risk of demolition. Due to its location and vulnerability to destruction, occupation authorities aim to increase Israeli settler presence and forcibly displace Palestinians.

21-day demolition notices

Mohammad Odeh's family is just one of nine Palestinian households in the community who received demolition notices from Israeli authorities who informed them their homes will be destroyed after 21 days. The notices are generally the final step in the demolition process.

"This isn't the first time authorities have demolished my building," Odeh, whose home was demolished first, explained. "My home is no different from those destroyed in Gaza. This is the reality under occupation."

Raeda Badran shares a similar story with Odeh, her neighbor. She resides in the community with her son, daughter-in-law, and two of her grandchildren, and received a final demolition notice on July 18 for the 25-square-meter extension to her house. Raeda resorted to the self-demolition of her extension after witnessing the destruction of Odeh's home, and fearing the potential trauma her grandchildren might face from the presence of the occupation forces.

The Silwan neighborhood is currently undergoing significant challenges alongside threats of demolition and displacement, including overcrowding and insufficient services. This year, 52 people have been displaced from the community, including Odeh's and Badran's families, since 19 Palestinian properties were destroyed.

Demolitions in occupied East al-Quds reached a record high back in 2023, with 229 Palestinian structures destroyed by occupation forces. As of August 2, "Israel" has demolished 128 Palestinian structures, including 61 homes, and displaced 330 people since the beginning of 2024.
Settlements in the West Bank and al-Quds: Violations of International Law

In a recent opinion advisory on July 19, the president of the International Court of Justice, Nawaf Salam, confirmed that the ICJ is "not convinced" that the expansion of sovereignty in the West Bank and al-Quds is "justified," and considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank and al-Quds a violation of international law.

In this context, Salam stated that the ICJ sees "Israel" treating East al-Quds as part of its territory and that "Israel" applied its laws there after 1967, stressing that the Israeli occupation is obliged to end its presence in the occupied Palestinian territories as soon as possible.

The ICJ president discussed the expansion of settlements in the West Bank, explaining that the transfer of Israeli settlers into the West Bank or East al-Quds contradicts Article 49 of the Geneva Convention and that "Israel’s" confiscation of Palestinian lands and granting them to settlers is neither temporary nor in compliance with the Geneva Convention.

The ICJ emphasized that the expansion of settlements into the West Bank and al-Quds and the construction of the separation wall serve to reinforce the occupation authorities and emphasized that all new settlement activities must be halted.

Salam also pointed out that "Israel" has accelerated the annexation of lands and the establishment of new settlements in the West Bank, amounting to more than 24,000 settlement units. The court believes that the control over occupied territories should be temporary, and its continuation amounts to an illegal annexation of large parts of those territories.

Salam then reviewed the number of Palestinian units demolished by the occupation in recent years, confirming that approximately 11,000 Palestinian units have been demolished since 2009 under the pretext of lacking permits. He also pointed out that Israel's practices have led to the expulsion of Palestinians from the occupied territories, especially Area C in the West Bank.

WCK staffer Nadi Sallout martyred

The World Central Kitchen says that martyr Sallout was a humanitarian at his very core

The World Central Kitchen (WCK) said on Thursday that one of its Palestinian members, Nadi Sallout, was killed near Deir al-Balah in Gaza.

In a statement, the WCK said that Sallout was a "humanitarian at his very core" and an "integral member of [the] warehouse team" from the early days of the organization's response in Rafah.

"Our thoughts and support are with Nadi's family and the rest of our dedicated team around the world as we mourn this tremendous loss," the organization said, adding that it will release further info on his martyrdom once available.

The Israeli occupation army killed seven central kitchen workers in Gaza last April, one Palestinian and six foreigners, leading the organization to pause its operations despite the catastrophic humanitarian situation caused by the Israeli genocidal war on the Strip and its blocking of basic survival aid.

The foreign staffers were an Australian, three Britons, a North American, and a Pole.

"Israel" admitted then that it was behind the attack and received wide condemnation, especially from Western countries, who also demanded an "immediate investigation" into the crime.

After the killing of its workers, the WCK released a statement saying that its "team was traveling in a deconflicted zone in two armored cars branded with the WCK logo and a soft skin vehicle."

According to the organization, the three World Central Kitchen vehicles were targeted after loading food from a nearby warehouse. The organization asserted that these vehicles were clearly identifiable, and their movements were monitored by the Israeli military

The Risk Of Regional War?

An all-out regional war will result in the annihilation of the Zionist Entity, for even with direct US involvement, the Zionists still can't win

Despite the Israeli-US alliance pulling off two high-profile assassinations within hours and posed as if they are ready for an all-out war, it is clear that they could only handle a regional conflagration which would quickly end in a stalemate. If this escalation goes the wrong way, however, there are only two options left for them, and both are terrible.

The Zionist Entity was faced with a choice, after failing to reach victory in Gaza: either end the war or escalate. It was clear from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to the US Congress that the leader of the Entity was bent on escalation and that he would receive bipartisan support in the United States for carrying out actions designed to achieve the desired goal.

Finding their justification in the massacre of 12 Syrian-Druze children in the occupied Golan Heights, quickly jumping to accuse Hezbollah, the Israeli military launched their attack on a multi-story building in southern Beirut. While the Zionists attempted to use the blood of the indigenous people of the Golan, living in Majdal Shams, for their own propaganda purposes, the people refused to allow them and blamed the Zionists for the massacre in their village, as Hezbollah vehemently denied any involvement.

The timing of the massacre came at a convenient time for the Zionist Regime, as the Israeli PM was at the tail end of his trip to the United States. Shortly afterward, the Israelis murdered seven Lebanese and injured around 80 in their attack on the southern suburbs of Beirut. The primary target was Hezbollah military leader Fouad Shokor, who was martyred along with three children and two women on Tuesday, July 30. Then, just hours later, the Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh was assassinated in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

None of this is by accident and the suggestion that the United States was not involved is simply ludicrous.

What Is The US-Israeli Strategy?

An all-out regional war will result in the annihilation of the Zionist Entity, for even with direct US involvement, the Zionists still can't win. Even if we assume that nuclear weapons might be used, the firepower of the Resistance is such that the Israelis would experience a similar blow from the sheer scale of missile power directed toward them.

Knowing that victory is not possible, it appears evident, therefore, that strategies are in place to prevent a war from reaching its inevitable conclusion. The Israelis and Americans are frustrated by their devastating failures since the Hamas-led October 7 attack, whether it be in the inability of the Zionist military to secure a victory against the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza, or the US' embarrassing defeat at the hands of Yemen’s Ansar Allah. The blows dealt to the Zionist Entity, in the security, military, political, societal, and economic spheres, are so great that it is unclear how they can ever recover.

Faced with such a predicament, the US-Israeli alliance had two options, either accept the strategic defeat and pursue a diplomatic solution to the chaos they have wrought over the past 10 months, or, escalate. The assassinations in Beirut and Tehran indicate they chose escalation.

The Israelis themselves have conducted two major war games over the past years, testing the capabilities of the Zionist military to fight a multi-front war, losing both times. Keep in mind that these military exercises were also conducted while assuming that the full strength of the Israeli military would be intact. At this time, the Zionist army is stretched thin, it is undertrained, overworked, and suffers from a lack of motivation and discipline. Additionally, it has lost many of its tanks and armored personnel carriers, as thousands have been damaged and destroyed in Gaza.

It suffices to say that Israel does not possess the capacity to fight the war it is pursuing, which is why the assassinations came as such a shock to many. However, as I have previously written here for Al Mayadeen, the Israelis had one last option left to prolong the war and the strategy is as follows:

Open up a war with Lebanon, but attempt to keep it limited to trade off blows and close the conflict with a stalemate. A war with Hezbollah will bring great carnage to Israeli infrastructure and result in scores of dead Israelis, thereby distracting the population from the war in the Gaza Strip. This would create an environment that could enable the Israeli prime minister to close a ceasefire deal with Hamas in Gaza. From there, the Zionist regime could then pivot to the West Bank, annexing around 60% of its territory and launching a military operation – similar to “Operation Defensive Shield” in 2002 – to murder the majority of the Resistance fighters there.

Under such a scenario, Benjamin Netanyahu will use the assassinations of Resistance leaders as trophies to brag about a supposed victory, while presenting the argument that his regime confronted an existential threat from multiple foes and survived. He will then use the land grab in the West Bank as proof of conquest and the killing of Resistance fighters there as a “security” achievement. This situation is what both the US and their Israeli allies see as the best-case scenario.

However, the situation could quickly spiral out of control and the damage done to the Zionist Entity could prove so great that it remains only a shell of itself if it manages to survive at all. It is a dangerous strategy, to say the very least, and although they may see it as a bold attempt to restore US-Israeli hegemony in West Asia, it also projects weakness and a lack of options. Such a risk, which could result in the end of the Zionist Entity, would only be taken if their backs were against the wall.

If this goes sideways for the Zionists, then they will likely have two options left. The first will be the infamous Samson Option, to use their nuclear weapons. The second could involve the deployment of regional forces into occupied Palestine to prevent the fall of the Zionist Entity.

The first option needs no further explanation; it is pure terror

The second has not been publicly discussed as of now but could also be implemented if it looks like the Israeli regime is about to collapse on the ground and Palestinian territory is close to liberation
Regardless, the Zionists have gambled, and only time will tell how this will turn out.

Kamala Harris against halting arms to Israel

A top aide to the Democratic presidential contender and VP Kamala Harris stated on Thursday that she does not favor stopping the transfer of weapons to "Israel" in order to put pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government over the war on Gaza

Philip Gordon, Harris’ National Security Advisor, tweeted on X: “She does not support an arms embargo on Israel,” adding, “She will continue to work to protect civilians in Gaza and to uphold international humanitarian law.”

After Joe Biden withdrew from the race for president and Harris emerged as the Democratic contender, activists and progressive Democrats attempted to persuade Harris to adopt a more outspoken position on the war than Biden.

This serves as the second confirmation after Harris' team released a statement announcing that she will not be discussing an arms embargo on "Israel" after two far-left activists from the Uncommitted movement claimed she exhibited openness to do so.

The Times of Israel reported, citing The New York Times, that Harris met with two Arab Americans leading the Uncommitted National Movement, who asked her to consider an arms embargo on "Israel", at a campaign stop in Michigan.

Just before her rally, Harris met with Abbas Alawieh and Layla Elabed, who, according to NYT's report, "wanted to support her but... wanted her to consider an arms embargo." In response, Harris indicated she was "open to it" and introduced the two community leaders to her staff.

Harris' team statement in response read, “Since October 7, the vice president has prioritized engaging with Arab, Muslim, and Palestinian community members and others regarding the war in Gaza... In this brief engagement, she reaffirmed that her campaign will continue to engage with those communities.”

It added, "The vice president has been clear: she will always work to ensure Israel is able to defend itself against Iran and Iran-backed terrorist groups. The Vice President is focused on securing the ceasefire and hostage deal currently on the table.”

“As she has said, it is time for this war to end in a way where: Israel is secure, hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinian civilians ends, and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, freedom, and self-determination.”

"Israel" is privately intensifying pressure on the Biden administration and lawmakers on Capitol Hill to expedite weapons approval under the pretext of protecting itself from "Iran and its proxies," a report by Politico revealed two weeks ago after Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu traveled to the US to perform a show for Congress.

In his speech, Netanyahu addressed the issue of delayed arms transfers, which he has previously criticized the Biden administration for.

“Give us the tools faster and we’ll finish the job faster,” Netanyahu said. “Israel will fight until we destroy Hamas’ military capabilities and its role in Gaza and bring all our hostages home. That’s what total victory means. And we will settle for nothing less.”

Polio, malnutrition tighten
death grip on Gaza children

96% of Gaza's population suffers from crisis levels of hunger as the WHO director confirms polio is plaguing Gaza

The number of cases of malnutrition among children in northern Gaza rose by almost 300% in July as compared to May, a report released on Friday by the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) revealed.

It stated that 96% of Gaza's population suffers from crisis levels of hunger, citing data from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) and the Global Nutrition Cluster.

On Thursday, the World Health Organization Director Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus tweeted about the levels of polio plaguing Gaza and said that the WHO, UNRWA, and UNICEF are preparing "two rounds of polio vaccination campaigns targeting 600,000 children under the age of 8."

"WHO is sending more than 1 million polio vaccines to Gaza, which will be administered in the coming weeks," he affirmed.

The director, however, asserted the need for "absolute freedom of movement for health workers and medical equipment to carry out these complex operations safely and effectively."

"A ceasefire, or at least 'days of tranquility' during preparation and delivery of the vaccination campaigns, are required to protect children in Gaza from polio," he added.

The fear stems from the Israeli occupation killing healthcare professionals and aid workers in indiscriminate bombing, as repeatedly revealed by Gaza authorities.

The latest incident saw the killing of the World Central Kitchen's (WCK) Nadi Sallout, one of its Palestinian members, who was killed near Deir al-Balah in Gaza.

In a statement, the WCK said that Sallout was a "humanitarian at his very core" and an "integral member of [the] warehouse team" from the early days of the organization's response in Rafah.

Another incident affecting the same organization saw the killing of seven central kitchen workers in Gaza last April, one Palestinian and six foreigners, leading the organization to pause its operations despite the catastrophic humanitarian situation caused by the Israeli genocidal war on the Strip and its blocking of basic survival aid, only to resume them by the beginning of May.

Two weeks ago, Ghebreyesus said an immediate ceasefire in Gaza is necessary to avoid deaths from unpreventable diseases, given the collapsed state of the Gazan healthcare system
A week prior, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza issued an urgent warning after tests conducted on sewage samples, in coordination with UNICEF, confirmed the presence of the poliovirus.

This alarming discovery highlights a severe health crisis as the virus is found in sewage water that flows through the densely populated areas and displacement camps, where infrastructure has been severely damaged due to the relentless Israeli bombardment since October 7.

So far, almost 40,000 Palestinians have been killed while another 90,000 injured. In the absence of proper medical treatment, decaying bodies scattered across the Strip, food insecurity causing exponential levels and cases of malnutrition, and the spread of highly transmittable diseases, such as respiratory infections, Hepatitis A, and others, such as diarrhoeal diseases, Palestinians, particularly vulnerable children, risk suffering a greater health toll.

Israel massacres over 100
    at morning prayers
The Government Media Office in Gaza states that more than 300 people were present at the time of the Israeli bombing

The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that "Israel" committed a horrendous massacre during the early hours of Saturday at the Al-Tabieen school in Gaza City, killing over 100 Palestinians and wounding dozens of others.

"Due to the enormity of the massacre and the rising number of victims, medical and civil defense teams have not yet been able to retrieve all the bodies," it said in a statement.

The media office held both Israel and the US administration responsible, pointing out that the Israeli occupation army launched a direct attack on the school, where many displaced individuals who had sought refuge were performing morning prayers, which led to a massive number of martyrs.

More than 300 people were present at the time of the Israeli bombing, the media office added.

It condemned this "horrific massacre in the strongest terms and [called] on the entire world to condemn it." The government office also demanded that the international community and international organizations put pressure on the occupation to stop the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

US facilitating Israeli crimes

The massacre came just hours after CNN reported citing sources that the White House decided to release $3.5 billion in funding for Israel to purchase US-made weapons and military equipment, and a Zeteo report revealing that the United States is set to send 6,500 Joint Direct Action Munitions (JDAMs) to Israel.

Such munitions (JDAMs) have been used in a series of massacres in Gaza, including in the recent bombing of the al-Mawasai tent city sheltering forcibly displaced Palestinians, killing over 90 people and wounding around 300.

Earlier this week, footage was leaked of Israeli occupation forces (IOF) sexually abusing a Palestinian prisoner from Gaza at the notorious Israeli concentration camp Sde Teiman.

Additionally, the United States decided on Friday not to impose sanctions on the infamous Israeli Netzah Yehuda battalion, which is accused of crimes in the occupied West Bank even by Washington.

The human rights violations included sexual assault and beating a number of elderly Palestinians to death after detaining them. Among the victims was a 78-year-old Palestinian-American man
Secretary of State Antony Blinken informed Israeli Security Minister Yoav Gallant that the US investigation was concluded, and found that the battalion has been “effectively remediated.”

Children torn apart

The Gaza Government Media Office holds both Israel and the US administration responsible, pointing out that the Israeli occupation army launched a deliberate attack on the school

After Israel committed a horrendous massacre during the early hours of Saturday, nothing remained of the scene but bloodied body bags and devastation.

At least 100 Palestinians were killed in the Al-Tabieen school in Gaza City, and dozens more were injured.

As Palestinians were performing the morning prayers, Israeli warplanes struck the mosque with three airstrikes, leaving behind a hellish scene of unrecognized bodies and mass destruction.

Al-Tabieen comprises a religious school and mosque in Gaza City.

The Government Media Office in Gaza stated that "due to the enormity of the massacre and the rising number of victims, medical and civil defense teams have not yet been able to retrieve all the bodies."

Body parts being strewn around the ruins and charred, bloodied bodies slumped in the wreckage of the two-story complex
The Media Office held both Israel and the US administration responsible, pointing out that the Israeli occupation army launched a deliberate attack on the school, where many displaced individuals who had sought refuge were performing morning prayers, which led to a massive number of martyrs.

It condemned this "horrific massacre in the strongest terms and called on the entire world to condemn it." It also demanded that the international community and international organizations put pressure on the occupation to stop the genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.

According to an AFP assessment, at least 14 schools housing Gaza's displaced have been targeted since July 6, killing over 280 people.

Abu Wassim, a neighboring resident who arrived to investigate the situation, expressed that "peaceful people -- women, children, and youths -- were performing the Fajr prayer as usual when suddenly a missile hit them."

"Children were torn apart, and women were burned. What can we say or do? What is in our power?"

As a woman cried over a dead child, she screamed, "They dropped a missile on them while they were just praying. Fear God, people! Fear God, Arabs!"

Another resident from the neighborhood, Sakr, told AFP, "We found bodies of children scattered in the street."

Another reported that bodies were unrecognizable, only remains was what was left of them, asking, "What have they done wrong?"

Mohammad al-Mughayyir, head of Gaza's Civil Defense supply and equipment department, told AFP that six schools in Gaza City had been attacked in the last week alone.

Al Mayadeen on Israeli ban:
    We remain steadfast
Al Mayadeen Media Network confirms its professional, ethical, and humanitarian coverage of news, warning against any harm that its journalists may be subjected to

Al Mayadeen Media Network issued a statement against the backdrop of the renewal of an Israeli ban on its activities in occupied Palestine.

Below is the text of the statement:

Following the recent Israeli decision to renew the ban on its operations and both visual and online broadcasts, Al Mayadeen Media Network announced the following:

Al Mayadeen condemns the decision of the Israeli government and its Prime Minister (Benjamin Netanyahu) and views it as further evidence of the occupation's inherent antagonism to journalism and its efforts to obscure the reality, whether partially or fully.

Al Mayadeen sees this as another occasion in which the Israeli occupation revealed its antagonistic stance toward free and professional media, particularly those committed to human rights and causes worldwide, especially those pertaining to the Palestinian people in the besieged and resilient Gaza Strip.

Al Mayadeen considers the occupation's insistence on banning a media outlet that is not under its control or the control of some of its allies and promoters, whether through intimidation or enticement, as a sign of weakness and fragility. It shows how angered and stressed the occupation is due to Al Mayadeen's commitment to its professional, humanitarian, and strategic media approach. The network emphasizes that labeling its correspondents in Palestinian 1948 occupied territories and the occupied West Bank as "terrorists" is, in itself, a form of terrorism. Al Mayadeen warns against inflicting any harm on its journalists and asserts that it will not yield to any form of extortion or pressure, regardless of its impact or extent.

It is clear that the occupation views Al Mayadeen as an outlet that enjoys a strong presence and influence and exhibits credibility and commitment to its morals. That is why the occupation reacts to the news outlet with a hysterical and puzzling degree of confusion when dealing with every word, image, and on-the-field presence, especially when Al Mayadeen contributes to quelling sedition, exposing and debunking lies, and calling out the crimes for what they are.

Al Mayadeen reaffirms its commitment to rejecting any form of normalization with the occupation, whether direct or indirect. The network will never promote the occupation's narrative under any pretext, disguised in supposed professionalism, and it will not be dragged into this disgraceful quagmire, no matter the cost.

The ban decision underscores how worried and anxious the occupation is about Al Mayadeen's news coverage, as it conveys the truth with utmost credibility and exposes the ongoing Israeli genocide and continuous criminal massacres to the world with professional integrity and steadfast humanitarian and ethical commitment.

Al Mayadeen maintains its media, intellectual, political, cultural, ethical, and humanitarian positions firmly. It will never waver from supporting the Palestinian cause, thus fully siding with Gaza's just cause and its people and children. The network will continue to expose the lethal Israeli sadism, the erosion of the occupation's entity, and the fragmentation of its society, regardless of how extreme the self-serving propaganda of the occupation and its allies and submissive followers becomes in spreading disinformation, deception, and threats.

Al Mayadeen extends its gratitude and appreciation to everyone who rushed to reach out in solidarity and express their position. The network calls on the free people of the Arab world and elsewhere to voice their rejection of the occupation's ongoing systematic policies against journalists, correspondents, and media staff and to renew their absolute condemnation of the occupation's crimes of killing journalists in Gaza and elsewhere.

Al Mayadeen views this publicly marketed ban and the frenzied Israeli media incitement against the channel and its correspondents, especially at this specific time and stage, as a message of intimidation. The network is aware of the decision's goals and implications, and it holds the occupation accountable for them before the public and the free people of the world, as well as the Arab and international media community.

Al Mayadeen will continue its work with full professionalism and commitment, coupled with utmost humility and courage, holding strong to the values of truth and justice, aligning with the oppressed, and defending Palestine, Gaza, and the people. The network will not cease to showcase global solidarity with Gaza and its people, highlighting the devotion and bravery of its people and the support provided by its allies and Resistance forces.

We remain steadfast, rooted, and committed... braced with professionalism and dedication... with no hesitation, stammering, or going back...

    Signed, Al Mayadeen Media Network.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli occupation government approved a proposal by Minister of Communications Shlomo Karhi to renew the ban on the Al Mayadeen Media Network. The decision includes the seizure of its equipment and the blocking of its websites.

Israeli media reported that the Minister of Communications pursued a new government decision after obtaining a "professional opinion" from security agencies and receiving approval from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

In November 2023, the Israeli Security Cabinet approved the suspension of the Al Mayadeen Media Network in occupied Palestine. The ban followed a joint statement by the Minister of Security, Yoav Gallant, and the Minister of Communications, Shlomo Karai, who cited the network as a threat to "Israel's security" as the reason for the ban.

The Israeli decisions against Al Mayadeen come as it continues to cover Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and all related developments, in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, occupied al-Quds, Israeli-occupied territories, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, and Iran, since October 7.

Hundreds storm Al-Aqsa Mosque

Coinciding with the occupation's aggression in Gaza and the West Bank, approximately 2,000 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque to mark the "destruction of the temple" anniversary

Hundreds of settlers, including Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, raided the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday under the protection of occupation police forces.

The Islamic Endowments Department in al-Quds reported that 2,200 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque since morning, marking what is known as the anniversary of the "destruction of the temple."

Al Mayadeen's correspondent in occupied Palestine indicated that the settlers raised the entity's flag inside Al-Aqsa Mosque at Bab al-Silsila while carrying out provocative tours inside the holy mosque.

During the storming, occupation forces obstructed Palestinian worshipers from entering the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, deploying large forces at its gates to facilitate the settlers’ actions.

The occupation police transformed the Old City of occupied al-Quds into a heavily fortified military zone, deploying hundreds of officers at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. They enforced stringent military measures at both the mosque’s entrances and throughout the Old City.

The Palestinian presidency held "Israel" accountable for the dangerous provocations at Al-Aqsa, urging the US administration to intervene and pressure the occupation government to cease the settlers' provocations. It emphasized that Washington must act to halt the aggression in Gaza and the West Bank to prevent the region from spiraling into uncontrollable violence.

10 months of war on Gaza

The storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque coincides with over 10 months of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in tens of thousands of martyrs and injuries. Additionally, it aligns with a surge in Israeli attacks on West Bank cities, which have claimed hundreds of lives amid the ongoing war.

Last month, Ben-Gvir and a bandwagon of settlers stormed the sacred al-Aqsa Mosque on July 18, under heavy protection from Israeli police officers and occupation forces.

Ben-Gvir made his way into the compound through the al-Magharba gate and walked through the eastern quarter, accompanied by a large number of Israeli officers. Concurrently, Israeli authorities banned all Muslim worshipers from entering the compound.

This was the third time that Ben-Gvir provoked Palestinians in less than a year by storming the holy site with other Israeli settlers under IOF protection.

On a related note, earlier this month, the Israeli occupation banned occupied al-Quds' Grand Mufti and preacher of the al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, from entering Palestine's holiest mosque for six months.

Sheikh Sabri's defense attorney, lawyer Khaled Zabarqa, said the occupation's court issued the decision on Thursday, following his detention and release last Friday.

He was arrested on August 2 after Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided his home in the al-Sawana neighborhood in occupied al-Quds and was taken to the Israeli al-Moskobiya (Moscovia) detention center in the city.

Israel's top wanted fighter Abu Shujaa

Throughout the interview, Abu Shujaa discusses the nature of "Israel's" weakness, the assassination plots against him, and his messages to the support fronts and the people of Gaza

Al Mayadeen conducted an interview with the commander of the Tulkarm Brigade within al-Quds Brigades, Mohammad Jaber "Abu Shujaa", which translates to "the father of courage", the Israeli occupation's most wanted individual in the occupied West Bank.

Abu Shujaa insisted his first media interview be with Al Mayadeen, despite "Israel" and its apparatus' pursuit of him.

Gaza: The people of fortitude and resolution

Abu Shujaa kickstarted his interview with a discussion on the integration of the Resistance in the West Bank in the Battle of Al Aqsa Flood, alongside the heroes of Gaza.

"We learn patience and resistance from the sons and fighters of Gaza and draw high morale from them. The Resistance remains as brilliant and valiant across all battlefields against the occupation 10 months into the war, despite the Israeli criminality that continues to target civilians, women, and children," he said, giving the example of the Israeli massacre against Palestinian civilians in al-Tabieen School.

He addressed the people of Gaza, extending solidarity and relaying the inspiration and lessons they [Palestinians/fighters in the West Bank] have learned from them, praising their heroism, and asking for a Godly reward to be bestowed upon them.

"You are the people of fortitude and resolution, who have proven to the whole world that Gaza's people can eradicate 'Israel'", Abu Shujaa said, calling the Resistance factions' leadership to be the victors of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

He further hoped the Islamic Ummah would not show indolence, particularly as the Resistance fighters were confronting the usurpers of rights and land, citing Yitzhak Rabin's notorious "A dead Palestinian is a good Palestinian," explaining that all Palestinians are targeted in Zionist ideology.

On the Israeli assassination plots

Abu Shujaa has been pursued by the Israeli occupation, with its forces failing to assassinate him three or four times, after being targeted in an operation specifically designated for him.

After the operation failed, the Israeli occupation continued its invasion of Tulkarm for 55 hours, according to the commander, who stressed that "Israel" was more fragile than a spider's web, particularly after all the losses it had suffered.

The Israeli occupation has always been weak, but refuses to admit it

"If the enemy assassinates me, we will continue. The struggle does not end with one person, there are generations that rise to defend our rights, and the biggest indicator is the martyrdom of a Palestinian and more in each home in Tulkarm, and the Resistance continues."

The masses have not risen for Abu Shujaa, he said, but for the idea of Resistance that solidifies their commitment [to armed struggle].

He addressed the Israeli occupation, saying, "The field decides all, and here it is... Eyes on the field."

After the assassination attempt failed, the Israeli occupation spread rumors after withdrawing from Tulkarm that it had assassinated Abu Shujaa. However, hours later, the occupation and his loved ones were surprised that he was alive and well.

Abu Shujaa clarified that he and a few people remained in the (Al-Kanir) neighborhood during the Israeli invasion, and the rest were martyred, adding that the occupation indiscriminately shelled them using RPG shells, and were confronted [by the Resistance] with rifles and explosive devices.

After that, the occupation admitted that two soldiers were killed and nine of them were seriously injured. "Of course, this is on its own account, knowing that the losses were greater," Abu Shujaa said.

A salute to the support fronts

Abu Shujaa sent his greetings and respect to the Axis of Resistance, from Sanaa to Tehran, all the way to southern Lebanon and its proud suburb [Dahiya].

Addressing Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Abu Shujaa said, “We, in the Islamic Jihad Movement, and especially the West Bank Brigades, love you and send you peace. We are brothers, and we stand with each other, and we are all one hand in confronting the Israeli occupation.”

Fight the enemy wherever he may be

In his message to the Palestinian people, especially the youth of the West Bank, Abu Shujaa said, “Do not be deceived by temptations, for life is either a life of honor or a life of humiliation. Whoever wants to live a life of humiliation will walk through life with his head bowed down. Therefore, we must choose a life of honor, pride, and liberation.”

He urged them to fight the enemy wherever it may be, to not abandon the cause, regardless of the pressure they might feel.

He also paid tribute to the martyrs and their families, pledging to preserve and sustain their legacies. "As the leader Dr. Ziad Nakhaleh, may God protect and preserve him, said, "The Palestinian people, even after a hundred years, will continue to fight until the land is liberated."

Abu Shujaa saluted Al Mayadeen, its chairman, and its employees, for its dedication to the Palestinian cause, since its establishment despite all the Israeli pressures, threats, and restrictions.

A biography full of struggle

Mohammad Samer Jaber, nicknamed "Abu Shujaa", is 26 years old, born in 1998. He comes from a Palestinian family that was displaced by the occupation from the city of Haifa during the 1948 Nakba and settled in the Nur Shams camp.

He grew up in the camp and studied in its schools. His brother, Martyr Mahmoud Jaber, was killed in the camp nine months ago. He also has two brothers, Ahmed and Ouday.

Ouday was freed from Israeli detention five years ago, while Ahmad remains a prisoner.

Abu Shujaa spent five years in Israeli prisons, after being arrested when he was 17, then twice after, alongside the Resistance's leadership.

His name became known as one of the most prominent founders of the Tulkarm Brigade - al-Quds Brigades, after the martyrdom of the resistance fighter Saif Abu Labdeh from the Nur Shams Camp, who bred the idea of the battalion and its ignition, similar to what the West Bank has seen over the past years.

Abu Shujaa took over the battalion's leadership and development, praising the role of the great leader Izz al-Din in supporting it.

Biden remarks green light for Israel

Hamas slams President Biden's remarks as a "green light" for "Israel" to continue its actions in Gaza, accusing the US of bias and complicity in the war

Hamas condemned on Tuesday US President Joe Biden's claims that the movement was backing away from a Gaza truce deal, describing his remarks as a "green light" for "Israel" to continue the war.

Biden, responding to questions on a ceasefire deal, claimed that "Israel says they can work it out, they're prepared. But I was told Hamas is now backing off."

While boarding a plane after giving a speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Monday, he added, "It remains to be seen. We're going to keep pushing."

In a statement, the Resistance group stressed that the "misleading claims... do not reflect the true position of the movement, which is keen to reach a ceasefire."

It described Biden's remarks—made on Tuesday as the US President was leaving Chicago after a keynote address at the Democratic National Convention—as an "American green light for the Zionist extremist government to commit more crimes against defenseless civilians."

The statement was issued while US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Egypt on Tuesday for discussions about a Gaza ceasefire.

Blinken, who met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in occupied al-Quds on Monday, will next travel to Qatar, which, alongside Egypt, is facilitating negotiations for a truce in the ongoing 10-month war on Gaza.

Hamas claimed that Biden's comments reveal a clear "American bias" toward "Israel" and imply Washington's complicity in what it describes as a "war of extermination against defenseless civilians in the Gaza Strip."

Maintaining a commitment to the July 2 agreement, it denounced the latest US changes to the plan as a "coup" against the previous framework, accusing Washington of "acquiescing" to conditions set by Netanyahu.

"The proposal recently presented to us goes against what the parties had agreed on July 2, this is considered an American response and acquiescence to the terrorist Netanyahu's new conditions and his criminal plans towards the Gaza Strip", Hamas added, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Netanyahu was always the one obstructing an agreement and setting new conditions and demands," Hamas said, calling on "the US administration to reverse its policy of blind bias toward the Zionist war criminals."

It called on the "mediators to assume their responsibilities" and oblige "Israel" to accept the original proposal.

Hamas blames Netanyahu for stalling

On Sunday, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement stated that the movement has "acted with full responsibility" toward mediators in Qatar and Egypt and considered the proposals aimed at reaching an agreement to stop the aggression in Gaza and to conclude a captive agreement.

Hamas detailed how the new proposal aligns with Netanyahu's conditions, particularly his "refusal to a permanent ceasefire and the complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, as well as his insistence on the continued occupation of the Netzarim axis, the Rafah crossing, and the Philadelphi corridor."

Netanyahu set new conditions for the prisoner exchange and backed down on other commitments, which prevented the completion of the exchange deal, fact established by Israeli media and Israeli officials themselves,

The Resistance movement held Netanyahu "fully responsible for the failure of the mediators' efforts, the obstruction of reaching an agreement, and full responsibility for the lives of his captives, who are exposed to the same danger as our people due to his continued aggression and systematic targeting of all aspects of life in the Gaza Strip."

Settlers force Palestinian displacement

Allegra Pacheco, head of the NRC-led West Bank Protection Consortium (WBPC), says that Israeli authorities, as the occupying power, are directly responsible for the actions of these violent settlers

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has urged the international community to intervene and protect Palestinian communities from increased Israeli settler violence in the occupied West Bank.

Since the war on Gaza began in October, settler violence has led to the largest wave of forced displacements of Palestinians. Settlers have attacked homes, established new outposts, and obstructed water access, resulting in the displacement of 119 Palestinians from three communities in the past ten days.

Two communities, al-Farsiya Khallet Khader and al-Farisiya al-Zu'bi, have been entirely depopulated, while only one family remains in the third community, Ein al-Hilweh – Um al-Jmal.

Allegra Pacheco, head of the NRC-led West Bank Protection Consortium (WBPC), stated that Israeli authorities, as the occupying power, are directly responsible for the actions of these violent settlers.

“These attacks, occurring in broad daylight under the watching eyes and the protective force of the Israeli military, highlight the unlawfulness of Israel’s presence in the West Bank, as recently ruled by the International Court of Justice. Palestinians are being forced to leave their land in what clearly constitutes a grave breach of international humanitarian law," she said.

In the al-Maleh region of the northeastern West Bank, 18 communities supported by the WBPC are either already displaced or face imminent risk of displacement. Nearly a quarter of a million euros in humanitarian aid provided by the WBPC is at risk, with some aid having been destroyed or looted by settlers.

‘We’ll come back and kill you’: Settlers tell Jit residents after raid

Only last week, over 100 Israeli settlers attacked the West Bank village of Jit, setting fire to Palestinian homes and cars while armed with guns and Molotov cocktails. The violence drew condemnations from the US, UK, France, and Germany, as well as the UN and the EU Foreign Policy chief, calling them "unacceptable".

Residents recounted the aggression, with Hassan Arman describing that the aim of the Israeli settlers who attacked his village was "to burn, kill, or destroy," all of which occurred that night.

The settlers were donned "in full uniform, armed with knives, a machine gun, and a silencer," Arman said, recalling the scene of when the attackers reached his home. The Palestinian man's car was also set on fire and destroyed during the raid, stating he had "never seen anything like it" when he opened the burnt vehicle door.

“After they burned the house there, they came to this house, broke the windows, and threw firebombs — Molotov cocktails — inside,” 38-year-old father of five, Muawiya al-Sada told Reuters, detailing the burnt wooden frame of the sofa and the glass shards littering the floor.

Upon returning to his home with his family, Sada recalled the settlers' taunts, asserting, "We will come back and kill you!" while telling them to leave for Jordan or Syria.

23-year-old Rasheed Seda was shot and killed during the violent settler aggression on Jit while he was attempting to fend off the attackers with a group of young locals, the head of Jit's local council and the martyr's relative, Nasser Seda, told Ynet news website.

“If our young people hadn’t gone out to try to repel the settlers, it could have been a much greater disaster,” Seda said.

Sed'a funeral was held on Friday, where he was carried through the streets while wrapped in the Palestinian flag.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry called the Jit attack "organized state terrorism," describing the settlers' rampage as a serious escalation in ongoing crimes against Palestinians. It demanded "deterrent sanctions against the racist colonial system, the dismantling of terrorist settler gangs, and the prosecution of their members."

Harris vows to protect 'Israel'

As she and Trump approach the last 11 weeks of the tense campaign, Harris makes a vow to map out a "New Way Forward" as she formally accepted the DNC's nomination.

Vice President Kamala Harris declared her acceptance of the Democratic candidacy for president on Thursday on the final day of the Democratic National Convention, calling for an end to the war on Gaza and the battle against tyranny everywhere.

"In the enduring struggle between democracy and tyranny, I know where I stand and I know where the United States belongs," Harris said, accusing Trump of bowing down to dictators.

As she and Trump approach the last 11 weeks of the tense campaign, Harris made a vow to map out a "New Way Forward" on the last and most anticipated night of the four-day Chicago convention.

Following many protests by pro-Palestine supporters dissatisfied with the DNC disallowing pro-Palestine speakers at the convention, Harris made a commitment to protect "Israel", release the captives from Gaza, and put an end to the war.

"Now is the time to get a hostage deal and a ceasefire deal done," she told the crowd, adding, "And let me be clear, I will always stand up for Israel's right to defend itself and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself."

"What has happened in Gaza over the past 10 months is devastating. So many innocent lives lost, desperate hungry people fleeing for safety over and over again. The scale of suffering is heartbreaking".

She also claimed, "President Biden and I are working to end this war such that Israel is secure, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom and self-determination."

Pro-Palestine delegates not given chance to speak

While pro-Israeli speakers were featured at DNC in Chicago, pro-Palestinian delegates were not given the chance to discuss the detrimental effects of "Israel's" war on Gaza.

A proposal to have a speaker discuss how the genocide has affected the Gaza Strip was turned down by convention organizers.

The proposal was made by "uncommitted" delegates who refused to back Harris because they disapproved of the Biden administration's adamant support for "Israel". The speakers the delegates had intended to bring to the table to talk about the destruction in Gaza were abruptly cut out.

Large demonstrations took place in Chicago this week demanding an end to sending arms to "Israel" and the cessation of the war on Gaza. Harris's National Security Advisor, Philip Gordon, stated earlier this month that the Democratic presidential candidate "does not support an arms embargo on Israel."

Despite clear evidence, Washington has consistently refused to acknowledge Israeli war crimes or acts of genocide since the war on Gaza began. Instead, the Biden-Harris administration has given "Israel" all possible military, logistical, and diplomatic aid.

Million-man rallies demand resistance response

Participants hail the Palestinian people's "legendary resilience that has defied expectations and disappointed the enemies and normalizers."

Several Yemeni provinces saw Friday million-man demonstrations in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in rejection of the ongoing Israeli genocide against the people of Gaza.

Under the slogan "With Gaza and Al-Aqsa... Jihad and Steadfastness Until Victory," mass rallies were held Friday afternoon in the al-Sabeen Square in the capital, Sanaa, as well as in over 200 main and subsidiary locations across Yemeni provinces, reiterating solidarity with the Palestinian people and support for the Yemeni Armed Forces’ operations in defense of Gaza.

Morning demonstrations were also held in the provinces of Saada, Raymah, and Marib, as well as in several districts of Taiz, Amran, and Ibb provinces.

Participants reaffirmed their continued support for Gaza and its Resistance through military operations, various official and popular activities, and economic boycotts against enemies.

The statement issued at the rallies called on the "Axis of al-Quds, Jihad, and Resistance to strike at the enemies of God, the prophets, and humanity," urging that the response to Israeli crimes be "devastating and satisfying to the hearts of the believers."

The statement addressed the Arab and Islamic nations, telling them that "Gaza is a test of your faith and a measure of your humanity, and abandoning it is betrayal."

According to the statement, responsibility and religious duty increase in proportion to the magnitude of the Palestinian people's suffering. It also warned against the dangers of complacency and neglect.

The participants also expressed pride and honor for the Palestinian people and their fighters, hailing their "legendary resilience that has defied expectations and disappointed the hopes of enemies and normalizers."

On Thursday, the leader of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, highlighted during a speech that the number of rallies, demonstrations, and solidarity events held in Yemen in solidarity with Gaza since the onset of the Israeli war on the besieged Strip has reached 652,175.

Sayyid al-Houthi affirmed that the weekly marches and rallies held in support of Gaza will continue in the capital Sanaa, as well as in different Yemeni governorates and countrysides, regardless of the circumstances and weather conditions.

"The stance of our beloved people is one of honor and valor, and it will be remembered by the coming generations as such; never stained with the shame of failure, as is the case with many peoples and regimes," the Yemeni Resistance leader indicated.
