Co-chairs of HDP, DBP, IHD and Eğitim Sen in Urfa detained

As AKP government's operations of political genocide continue across Turkey, police forces have conducted yet another expansive operation in Urfa province earlier today.

Co-chairs of the HDP, DBP, IHD and Eğitim Sen, have all been detained in the operation on grounds of “opposing the law on meetings and demonstrations”.

The detainees include HDP provincial co-chair Rıdvan Yavuz, DBP provincial co-chair Leyla Coşkun, İHD Branch co-chair Atilla Yazar, SES Branch co-chairs Reşat Doğan and Ruken Kılınç, Eğitim Sen Branch co-chair Dilek Çakırtaş, HDP Haliliye district co-chair Mehmet Melik, ESM Branch chair Servet Yazar, DBP provincial assembly members Sevinç İzol and Sibel Sütpak.

The politicians and unionists detained in the operation have been taken to Urfa Police Directorate following a medical check at Mehmet Akif İnan Training and Research Hospital.
