when do we use "pir" and when "gelek"? i never say "ez pir feqîrim".. but i do it on feelings, what is the rule?

Bira, lêre pêwîste tu bi Kurdî peyv bidey...

"Pir", ez baverkem, dema mirov li ser hisên xwe û fikrên xwe peyvdide têt bi kar anîn...

Lê belê ez baver dikem kû chi "shash" yan "rast" chunîne... "Pir" û "Gellek" li gorî tu li kîjan menteqa Kurdistanê da bî, cire cire têt bi kar anîn...

Belê, dibît li hindek menteqa shash û rastiya wê hebît...

Eger te Kurdiya min fam nekir/halî nebûy, ji min re bêje... Ez dê vegorînim Inglizî...

umm is that even kurdish :roll:



Shash is the REAL Kurdish word for "Xelet" - which is an Arabic loanword... In Turkish they say "Yanlish" - and in Farsi they mimic Arabic and also say "Xelet"... We should sue Kurdish expressions... "Shash" is when your actions are wrong, in e.g. speak or do something wrong..

i never heard that word .. what kurdish do you guys speak :? :roll:

Ez dikarim bejim: ez pir dixwînim û ez pir dimeşim ji bo ew kar in ne wusa ye? Û carê din ez dikarim bejim: ez gelek mast dixwazim, ez gelek vestîyam, ne?

Gotinên kû min sor kirin - gotinên Erebî ne...

The words I have marked in red - are Arabic...

Kurdîa wan gotinan:

Kurdish version of those words:

Wallah - Bi Xuda ("By God")

Ayb - Sherm, Fêdî

Lazim - Pêwîst (Needed)

Muheem - Girîng


I think Chichalok speaks Kurdish - but she doesn't know how to use the Latin Kurdish script - that is her problem... Her Kurdish is just fine... :roll: (Although, she needs to improve her Latin Kurdish script, like you...)

Best of wishes to both of you... Good luck with Latin Kurdish - it is far simpler than Arabic Kurdish... :wink:
