I'm not really as optimistic as you all are, because this is just a small step and doesn't ensure anything. I guess the mark is rather symbolic , rather than purely power/political based.

I think it is going to be mostly political . look no one wants to mess with militarized Kurds and any military approach towards solving kurdish issue will be viewed badly on the international stage , so the new syrian regime will do their best to look good on the international stage , well at least for a while .

Keep in mind that syria will not be stable for Years to come and removal of asad will solve some problems and create a lot more problems .
