Media outlets affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on Monday confirmed the death of one of their special guard of Murad Qarailan, a member of the PKK's governing body, with conflicting information surrounds the circumstances of her death
While the People's Defence Forces (HPG), the military wing of the PKK, acknowledged the incident in the Matina region on the 4th of the month, discrepancies arose regarding the date of the event.
The HPG statement claimed that Chavare Galhat died on the 4th, but sources, including information obtained by BasNews, suggest the incident occurred on the 1st of the same month in the Avashin area.
The statement provided no details about the cause of Galhat's death, saying it was "caused by an accident" without specifying further. Shilan Shaki, known as Galhat, was from the Kurdish Bawuri's Shrnakh, whose parents were identified as Nazanin and Kaway Osman.
- Former PKK commander Zindan Amad shared insights with BasNews, pointing to internal corruption within the PKK and the targeting of nearby cadres, particularly those associated with Murad Qarailan
- This incident adds to the longstanding issue of internal conflicts within PKK, where allegations of liquidating have surfaced in the past. Kurdish writer Hoshang Ossi previously revealed that Abdullah Ocalan mentioned during his trial that over 15,000 young Kurds had been killed by PKK as part of internal purges
