What Made Kurds Newsworthy?

The Kurdish cause stood apart from all other conflicts and wars because Kurds are the

    LARGEST NATION WITHOUT
    A COUNTRY OF THEIR OWN
It was understood that the Kurdish Freedom Fighters were fighting for a FREE KURDISTAN

THOUSANDS of Kurds joined in the fight for FREEDOM and sadly THOUSANDS went missing or were killed

Unfortunately, Kurds do not understand that their failure to unite and set clear goals is destroying their chance of freedom

Most Kurds I know want a FREE KURDISTAN

Yet some Kurdish leaders want only more rights from their slave masters

During the last 20 years many countries have gained independence

Also Kurds seem totally unaware of other conflicts similar to their own

The treatment of people in the DONBASS, the internal conflict within the Ukraine that has been going on since WW2 when the central Ukrainian government supported NAZIS and the DONBASS fought against the Nazis and to some degree or other have been under constant attack ever since, and in more recent years when the Ukrainian government started banning their language, culture, music, books, civil rights and even their traditional clothing

The Palestinians who have had their homeland stolen and are under constant attack. Marwan Barghouti whose situation bears a strong resemblance to Ocalan:
Marwan Hasib Ibrahim Barghouti (also transliterated al-Barghuthi; Arabic: مروان حسيب ابراهيم البرغوثي; born 6 June 1959) is a Palestinian political figure convicted and imprisoned for murder by an Israeli court.[1] He is regarded as a leader of the First and Second Intifadas. Barghouti at one time supported the peace process, but later became disillusioned, and after 2000 went on to become a leader of the Second Intifada from the West Bank.[1][2] Barghouti was a leader of Tanzim, a paramilitary offshoot of Fatah.[3]

Israeli authorities have called Barghouti a terrorist, accusing him of directing numerous attacks, including suicide bombings, against civilian and military targets alike.[4] Barghouti was arrested by Israel Defense Forces in 2002 in Ramallah.[1] He was tried and convicted on charges of murder, and sentenced to five life sentences. Marwan Barghouti refused to present a defense to the charges brought against him, maintaining throughout that the trial was illegal and illegitimate.

Barghouti still exerts great influence in Fatah from within prison.[5] With popularity reaching further than that, there has been some speculation whether he could be a unifying candidate in a bid to succeed Mahmud Abbas.[6]

In the negotiations over the exchange of Palestinian prisoners for the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, Hamas insisted on including Barghouti in the deal with Israel.[7][8] However, Israel was unwilling to concede to that demand and despite initial reports that he indeed was to be released in the 11 October 2011 deal between Israel and Hamas, it was soon denied by Israeli sources.[9][10]

UPDATE:
The popular campaign to release Marwan Al-Barghouti says the Israeli occupation authorities transfer the prisoner Al-Barghouti from his isolation in "Hadarim" Prison to a new isolation in "Nafha" Prison

Other noteworthy political conflicts include Brazil where for months MILLIONS of Brazilians supported the then President Jair Bolsonaro saying the corrupt opposition leader Luis Inacio Lula belongs in prison. Then all of a sudden the corrupt Luis Inacio Lula becomes President X(

Let us NOT forget CUBA

Confirmed: Ana Belen Montes released from US prison after 20 years

Montes left Carswell prison in Fort Worth, Texas, and begins a five-year probation period inside the US as she is not allowed to leave American soil.

Ana Belen Montes has repeated history by saying what she said during her trial 21 years ago: the US government's policies against Cuba are very harsh and she behaved according to her conscience rather than the law. She added: "I felt morally obligated to help the island defend itself from our efforts to impose our values and our political system on it."

After spending 20 years in a Texas prison, the US has released American citizen Montes after being imprisoned for supporting the Cuban revolution. Montes previously served as an analyst in the US Defense Intelligence Agency.

Now 65 years old, Montes left Carswell prison in Fort Worth, Texas, and has begun a five-year probation period inside the US as she is not allowed to leave American soil.

Cuba's 007 hero

A Puerto Rican-American citizen, Montes was sentenced back in 2001 for espionage dating back from 1992 to 2001 for Cuba.

In 2001, the US accused her of spying for a duration of 10 years. One year later, she was handed a sentence of 25 years after charging her with conspiracy to commit espionage and giving Cuba confidential information for it to defend itself.

Montes herself was a top official in the military intelligence pertaining and was responsible for issues related to Cuba.

Due to Montes and her efforts, Cuban authorities were able to investigate a large number of US plans and attacks that were meant to destabilize Cuba over the years.

Invasion Day Rallies

On Thursday, tens of thousands of people attended Invasion Day rallies held across Australia's major cities, calling for changing or abolishing the date as the country celebrates its national holiday Australia Day

In Melbourne, a large crowd assembled outside the state's Parliament House on Thursday morning, holding placards and the Indigenous flag, with loud cheers breaking out.

"I believe that January 26 should be recognized as a day of mourning, as opposed to Australia Day celebration, because it's not a celebration for the indigenous people," one of the protesters, Amilia, said.

"I think this day represents a massive genocide that happened to our First Nations, indigenous Aboriginal Australians... Some people think we can change the date, but most people just want to abolish the date or change it to a day of mourning where people can actually cry and remember what actually happened instead of celebrate."

Similar scenes were seen across Australia's other major capital cities. In Sydney, thousands of protesters packed into Belmore Park. Marchers were seen carrying placards that read: "Stop the Genocide."

A candlelight dawn service began in Brisbane at 4 a.m. local time in Musgrave Park, followed by a flag-raising ceremony at Jagera Community Hall. The crowd kicked off the Invasion Day march around 11:30 a.m., with protesters chanting: "End black deaths in custody!"

Since 1994, Australia Day has been marked on Jan. 26 as a national public holiday in every state and territory. However, on Jan. 26, 1788, Arthur Phillip raised the British flag at Sydney Cove to claim the land as a British Colony. The celebration is regarded as a painful reminder of the beginning of British colonization and the dispossession of First Nations peoples.

The public holiday referred to as "Invasion Day" for the indigenous communities has sparked heated debates and rallies in recent years calling for a change or abolishment of the date to make the national day more inclusive of Indigenous Australians.
