Re: Kurds in Europe

Sweden and the UK are the most tolerant to immigrants of all the European countries, I would say... But it's hard to pin down one whole country, really, since there are both tolerant and intolerant elements depending on where you are in a country + who you are and what your background is... Nice top...

Re: Neanderthal Turks hurt Kurds in Canada

i think some kurds there said something first to provoke them. i do not think it right how they beat up the kurds though. Nuray... Wake up and smell the coffee... It is SAVAGE to beat up somebody JUST BECAUSE THEY SAID SOMETHING... And I doubt ANYTHING can be said that would deserve the beating of ...

Re: Favourite Names for Girls

I just saw you ask about "Meryem" in another thread - and I wanted to tell you that "Meryem" is a Semitic name, not Kurdish (Iranic)... A few of my favourite girl's names are: Kurdish ¤ English ¤ Meaning: Sema ¤ Samaa = Dance/Ritual Dance Shahbanû ¤ Shaahbaanou = Queen (literally...

Re: Karo

Names ending in the "-o" suffix are of male gender... Names ending in the "-ê" suffix are of female gender... "Karê" = female "Karo" = male "Sêvê" = female "Sêvo" = male etc... These suffixes are usually used to shorten down long names or i...

Re: Fatih Cekirge: The bombs to PKK, recognition to Barzani

I don't think this is such a good thing. By allowing Turkey to attack PKK bases in South Kurdistan in exchange for recognition of Iraqi Kurdistan, there is two problems... 1. More innocent Kurds will be killed. (Which have nothing to do with PKK) 2. Kurds from North Kurdistan (Turkish occupied Kurd...

Re: Kurdish Authorities Move to Annex Assyrian Lands in North Ir

Haha - Assyrians are most free in Kurdistan Region of Iraq... So how did you come to the logic that Assyrians are most free in Syria?!??! Well, since Syria is a state, I would say Syria is less aggresiv against Assyrians. Well Kurdistan, what should I tell you dear Diri, if I would say things what ...

Re: Kurdish Authorities Move to Annex Assyrian Lands in North Ir

I was born in Syria, it compared to the other regions, its less aggressiv against Assyrians. Keep in mind, by saying less I mean we have there problems, but they are not compareable to those in Iran, Turkey and Iraq. Haha - Assyrians are most free in Kurdistan Region of Iraq... So how did you come ...

Re: The Etymology of "Daye" (Mother) and "Baran" (Rain) in Kurdi

matin123 wrote:In Farsi (although it's rarely used), they use the term Daye for someone who takes care of or raises a child. Pretty much the same thing as mother in Kurdish.

In Hungarian they say "Dayka" for the same thing... :)
