Jandarma

Jandarma also is not a Turkish word, it from french ''gens d'armes''.

Really?! Interesting to see one more unisex given name in Kurdish! There are already a lot of unisex names in Kurdish, which one can interprete as a sign for existence of potantiel of gender equality in Kurdish society. =D>

Kurdish "j" is the same as Turkish "j"...

The reason for why I did not said turkish ''j'' is that Turkish has No ''j''! :D
ALL the words containing ''j'' used in turkish are loanwards

And all the words in Turkish starting with M are loanwords too... That's not really the point here...

Not everything should be politicized ----> especially when speaking to Kurd-friendly Turks/people...

Yes - There are MANY unisex names in Kurdish culture and language - thank God... It's indeed a sign of tolerance and gender equality...

Kurdish women have (according to most historical sources) had prominent positions in society and important roles in religious life (Zoroastrianism & Yazidism)... :) That's something to be proud of! :)

I don't think Alp is a funny name. When you posted
"Eren'' and ''Arslan'' I thought of Alp Eren and Alp Arslan.
I thought that was funny to think of on a Kurdish forum okey.

"Bora" is one of the ugliest names, in my oppinion...

Eren has a nice cling to it... And so does Alp... But "Bora" sounds like "Boru"... And all the "Bora's" I've seen have looked round like "Boru"s...
