Serekani (Raʾs al-ʿAyn): Heavy fighting between PYD and FSA

PostAuthor: dyaoko » Thu Nov 29, 2012 11:55 am

KURDWATCH, November 23, 2012—On November 19, 2012, armed confrontations between the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and units of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) took place in the eastern part of the city of Raʾs al‑ʿAyn (Serê Kaniyê). An activist from Raʾs al‑ʿAyn told KurdWatch that prior to the fighting, FSA representatives demanded that all PYD flags between Raʾs al‑ʿAyn and al‑Malikiyah (Dêrik) be removed. FSA representatives explained that this was an order from the Turkish government, who supports them. The chief negotiator for the PYD wanted to discuss the matter first. The activist from Raʾs al‑ʿAyn further stated: »At first [on November 8,2012] approximately five hundred FSA fighters came from Turkey. Around a hundred stayed at the border; the remaining four hundred marched into the city. Later, around two hundred additional fighters came from ar‑Raqqah; they were joined by other people from the area. It isn't really very many, but they are Islamists and they have come to die.« According to his estimates, the PYD has around one thousand armed fighters in the region.

ʿAfrin: Fighting near Qastal Jindu

KURDWATCH, November 28, 2012—On October 28, 2012, armed conflicts broke out near the Yazidi village of Qastal Jindu near ʿAfrin. The conflicts occurred between units of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Free Syrian Army's (FSA) Storm of the North Brigade, led by ʿAmmar al‑Dadikhi alias Abu Ibrahim. Fighters for the Storm of the North Brigade conquered the PYD checkpoint and arrested two PYD supporters. Shortly thereafter fighters for the ʿAmr ibn al‑ʿAs unit led by Ahmad ʿUbaid forced the Storm of the North Brigade out of Qastal Jindu; the PYD returned to the village. The exact reasons for the conflicts between the PYD and the various FSA units are unclear, but it is certain that the conflicts were not, as the PYD claims, anti-Yazidi attacks by the FSA on Qastal Jindu. As an Yezidi Kurd I'm shocked by this news. Islamists are still trying to wipe Yezid's out. It’s time for Muslim Kurds to do something about it!!!!

Islam is a virus thats why! In a muslim point of view, islam is the only religion that must be worshiped. The muslim kurds are not kurds, but rather arab followers.

Islam is much worse than just a virus. But, it is really disappointing that Kurds always trust their enemy...wasn't it a week ago PYD and FSA agreed on a cease-fire? And now FSA is breaking it...same with Iraq; president Barzani trusts Maliki too much.
But you are right kak Brendar, there are too many arab followers among Kurds. Islam has betrayed us, we haven't betrayed Islam. Odd; people say that if you are clean, God will help and protect you, and Kurds are ,almost, religious as the Quran says a man should be, compared to other countries, and still God is helping the devil...

Not all Mulem's point of view, I know lot of kurds who are Muslems and at the same time they are modern and progressive and love kurdistan
I think the difference of muslem kurds (the majority) and the extremist musclemen in arabic countries is ,majority kurds are Moderatre muslems, and islam is private part of their life, Islam for them is a reason to gather together and make more party and dance (as for celebrations) which is good !

but Unfortunately there are a some kurds that make islam a Political Islam [something like muslem brotherhood] or something like iranian shia islamic governmment, which I agree with you, they are harming Kurdistan and technically working for Arabic Nationalist movement.
Political islam is what I really dislike is Political Islam , which is stupid and none sense and makes your nation go down in hisotry as it did for Afghanistan, Iran ,... and anywhere else. and political islam itself is not correct acroding islam [who gives you the power to rule and interepert God's word on everyone ?]

First think about who divides Kurdistan, Colonialism and Fascism, not Islam. And now even you guys try to divide Kurds. And Islam is what Allah says in the Quran and not what Saddam or Atagay said.

Yes we need a united nationalistic freedom movement but how can we gain that when so many religous kurds in bakur gives their votes and support to AKP instead of BDP which supports a united nationalistic freedom movement.
I say it again, I have nothing against Islam and I know that there are those religous kurds who have tried to create a kurdish muslim party but I havn't seen so much action from them on that matter, have you?
When will you realise that our enemies uses islam to divide us.

If Mahmud Barzinji didn't fight the English( he did it in the name of Islam) in 1920s, we would have a country now...But for Kurds, Islam is much more important than a country; that's why 65% of Kurds in Turkey voted for AKP- Turkish Islamic party, and not Kurdish BDP.
And, you can't be a nationalist and a muslim, being a nationalist is against Islam.

You know that because you are a God? Mahmud Barzinji fights for a free Kurdistan against the colonialists. Without his fight, south Kurdistan would mybe more integrated into Iraq.

But I expect from a Kurd hater like you that you insult Kurdish heros, shame on you.

The majority of BDP voters are also Muslims. Kurds who vote for AKP do it not because of Islam, but because of economy etc. Even AKP is not very Islamic, they banned the headscarf in schools now, and there are more radical islamic Turkish parties like SP and Kurds dont vote for them.

Many Christians in Turkey and in the whole middel east are assimilated, they support nationalistic arabs and Turks, as long as they are secular. Dersim vote for CHP etc. So dont come with oh they vote for them and they for them, its not because of religion, its because of power, population, occupation and fascism. If Kurds would have a bigger population than Turks, and if Kurdistan would be a barbaric state like Turkey is now and occupy Turkish land 100 years long, with brutal assimilation, many Turks would also vote for Kurdish Parties.

The head of the Greek Christans in Turkey say that he and all other Christans in Turkey are Turks.

http://www.radikal.com.tr/Radikal.aspx? ... egoryID=78

Do Muslim Kurds here spam topic full with propaganda against Yezidis and Alevis etc. because they vote for CHP or because they have Arab clothes?

It is our job to fight against the occupiers and not to divide the Kurds.

You don't seem to understand my point. So my response will be; think of a Kurdistan where people put their ethnicity, nationality, identity, country before their religion. Hope you understand what I mean.
Mahmud might be your hero, but I see him as a radical islamist. Anyhow, Mustafa Barzani is a true hero, he didn't exchange his country for Islam.

No they dont use Islam to divide Kurds, they use fascism to kill Kurds. But they use Yezidism to divide the Kurds, you exactly know that they open a Yezidi party which make propaganda against Kurds and call Yezidis Arabs. Now should all Muslim Kurds start to insult Yezidis, because the enemy use their religion?
