Jabar Yawar: No US equipment ever in Erbil

US heavy weaponries in Erbil

Image

Peshmerga spokesmen rejects claims that the US has got any weaponries stationed in Kurdistan since 2003.

Jabar Yawar told (Aso) newspaper that "No US force or weaponries have ever been brought or stationed in Kurdistan".

Yawar also said that the US forces that were in Mosul , Kerkuk , Tikrit as well as Diyala were withdrawn which previously had the 4th brigades stationed in them.

Worth mentioning this statement was a response to the statement Erdogan had given during a meeting with US officials urging them not to leave any heavy weaponries behind in Northern Kurdistan region.

You see kak Rando romania buy their tanks, artillery and many other things from romanian companies not foreign atleast most of the products.
But of course these things take time and KRG really needs more modern equipment and other things NOW. That's why they have to encourage young kurds to start manufacturing kurdish products. Or why not start state owned companies.

But doesn't this 2.5-3 billion $ go aswell to salaries and other things? While the romanian 2.5-3 billion $ is only for spending?

yes,you are 100% right about the education. im am 100% for an independent military industry. thats why i often say "education is more powerful than any warhead"
but there are also alot of other armies that have the same Budget as us,but still got alot more (like vietnam, chile etc)
chile got 140 leo 2 and 100 leo 1,and also 300 IFV and 700 APC (almost all american and german made). they also got a decent air force with 45 (or so) F-16 and 15+ F-5.
either way,3 bilion is too large for what peshmerga claims to have.

but back to the education: we should send our students to germany to study engineing. germany have, and have always had, a leading role in enginering. durning WW2, 1 german tiger tank could knock out 7 american sherman tanks.
we should bulid good relations with them.
one of the best tanks today is leo2,a german made tank. (it was the best, but then it was surpassed by the new S.korean K2 not so long ago. which by the way uses alot of german made things, like its engine. also, the abrams use german cannons and some other things)

Yes offcourse, just use an online converter to whatever type you like and save it and then insert it into windows movie maker. Then from there, you just split the video to different parts and make a new video :D

This is a good site

KRG, Iraq to build military facilities on Iraq-Iran border

PostAuthor: Rando » Thu Jun 07, 2012 9:57 pm

Kurdistan Regional government and Iraq plan to build two military facilities near Iran borders to maintain security.

Image

The Iraq-Iran borders have been a target of Iran’s airstrikes and artilleries under the pretext of the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan’s (PJAK) activities.

The facilities will be located in Balakayati Mountains near Iran border, Choman commissioner Abdulwahid Gwani told PUKmedia.

“The first facility will be built on the central government budget and based with Iraqi Border Police,” he said, “and the second one will be on Ministry of Peshmerga’s budget and placed with Peshmerga forces.”

The facilities aim to protect the security of the border areas and that the neighboring countries will have no pretext to bombard the areas.

Placing military bases on the borders comes after the long-term bombardment by the neighboring countries under several pretexts and as a result many civilian families have been killed and injured and many others displaced.

The facilities are in Kurdistan not even in the disputed areas, so why they send Iraqi Border Police to the first facility?

The 'Iraqi border force police' will in essence be a Kurdish unit paid by Baghdad. I wouldn't be surprised if Iran pressurized Maliki to pay for this facility to protect against PJAK attacks.

In a meeting with high Israeli military officials, Masrour Barzani general director of Kurdish intelligence agency (Paristen), has signed a contract to buy medium to heavy weaponries from Israel.

The news agency (nor) reveals that, Masrour Barzani has met with (Rakad Mufael) , Israel military commander , as well as (Biyadin Muntari) , the general organizer of Kurd-Israel relations in Erbil, apparently the meeting lasted nearly two hours , and they emphasized on strengthening ties as well as Kurdistan taking advantage of Israel's high advanced military expertize .

The source has announced that: The Kurdistani officials have previously asked USA and few other countries to stripe Iraq of heavy weaponries , also it is revealed that the recent visit by Barzani to the gulf countries was also to sign a contract to buy heavy advanced weaponries .

"According to the diplomatic relations between Kurdistan and Israel, a contract has been signed to buy advance fighter jets from Israel and a source close to Barzani has confirmed the news to the agency" according to the Website.

Worth mentioning in the past Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani has announced that, it is normal to have diplomatic ties with Israel as many Muslim as well as Arabic countries have diplomatic ties with Israel .
